About Me
Currently, I'm working at the Swiss Data Science Center on developing data science applications for research projects and outreach.
In my last role, I worked in a team at the Computer Engineering Group at ETH Zürich and in close collaboration with partners from WSL on a hazard warning system using machine learning and wireless sensor networks. We successfully deployed a new sensor platform in spring 2022 at Illgraben, Switzerland.
My interest include data analysis (deep learning, representation learning, expert-in-the-loop), signal processing (embedded computing, audio processing) and communications (wireless sensor networks, optical communication). I am focusing on improving large-scale acquisition and analysis of environmental data by using traditional and machine learning based approaches on various stages of the data acquisition pipeline. My focus includes deep learning, representation learning, and their optimizations for embedded systems. In addition, I am interested in how to communicate research results to experts and non-experts and how to involve them in the knowledge creation process.
Previously, I developed signal processing algorithms enabling high-speed optical communications at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology where I worked with the Institute of Photonics and Quantum Electronics. Additionally, I pursued my interest in music by studying music computer science at the University of Music Karlsruhe.
I work on various side projects related to music (song writing, music production, algorithm development) and media arts (sound/video installation).
